What You'll Do10
- 1Diagnose and repair complex mechanical electrical fuel cooling steering hydraulic and performance issues on outboard and inboard powered boats using OEM diagnostic software and service manuals.
- 2Perform water testing and sea trials to verify repairs and maintain high quality standards.
- 3Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and preventative care for gasoline inboard sterndrive and outboard engines.
- 4Repair fuel cooling ignition steering charging trim hydraulic and electrical systems.
- 5Install rigging repowers engine accessories steering controls gauges wiring batteries electronics trolling motors power-poles jack plates and other marine accessories.
- 6Document diagnostic findings labor operations and recommendations within the dealership management system.
- 7Maintain repair order documentation identifying concerns causes and corrections.
- 8Follow manufacturer warranty procedures and dealership repair processes.
- 9Support colleagues by sharing technical knowledge and assisting with difficult diagnostics.
- 10Contribute to a positive professional service department and collaborate with Service Advisors and parts personnel.
Requirements7
- 13–5+ years of professional marine technician experience in a dealership environment.
- 2Strong diagnostic skills for outboard and inboard propulsion systems.
- 3Proficiency with OEM diagnostic software scan tools multimeters and manufacturer service information.
- 4Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- 5MMI graduate or equivalent marine technical education.
- 6Experience with sterndrives inboards and high-performance marine systems.
- 7Familiarity with Lightspeed or similar dealership management software.
