Manufacturing Operations Manager 1 - 2nd Shift
Overview
Lead a cross-functional team at the Elkridge MD facility overseeing production mechanical assembly integration test shipping and quality functions. Manage daily operations support new production sustainment spares and returned material for repair. Drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety quality and cost targets.
What You'll Do11
- 1Oversee daily operations across production mechanical assembly integration test shipping and associated quality activities
- 2Directly supervise approximately 5–10 non-represented employees including assigning work setting daily priorities and managing schedules
- 3Provide clear directions and coaching using established procedures and precedents
- 4Monitor work in process material and tooling availability and resolve operational and quality issues
- 5Execute and support production and shipping schedules in coordination with MRP Production Control Quality Supply Chain and Engineering
- 6Track and act on KPIs for safety quality delivery productivity and 5S/housekeeping
- 7Coordinate interdepartmental activities with operations quality assurance production control supply chain engineering inventory control shipping/receiving and transportation
- 8Support program and project performance by providing accurate status on cost schedule and technical performance
- 9Identify risks and develop mitigation actions to maintain productivity quality cost and delivery objectives
- 10Support staffing onboarding training and engagement providing performance feedback and helping employees build skills
- 11Participate in first time manufacturing builds establishing workspace layouts process flows and work instructions
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of Manufacturing Operations experience
- 2Secret Security Clearance
- 3U.S. Citizenship
- 4Advanced degree in a STEM field or management discipline preferred
- 59 years of Manufacturing Operations experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
- 6Experience mentoring leading and coaching people and/or teams
- 7Experience in developing cross discipline partnership and collaboration within a diverse team
- 8Experience using MS Office tools Excel Word and PowerPoint
- 9Experience in a DoD regulated environment
- 10Experience in SAP MES and GOLDesp systems
- 11Lean manufacturing and process improvement implementation experience
Salary Insight
$105 - $158k per year
