Manufacturing Associate, Titanium Spring Production
Overview
You will manufacture titanium and steel compression springs for aerospace, defense, and space applications at Renton Coil Spring, the global leader in titanium spring manufacturing. Working a fixed Monday-Thursday schedule, you will learn precision measuring with calipers, height gauges, and pin gauges, and pass Level 1 Spring Maker tests. You will join a team of skilled machinists and quality inspectors, with hands-on training in coiling, grinding, and finishing. This role offers a clear path to advanced manufacturing positions and pays $22-$25 per hour.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate vertical band saws, cold saws, and punch presses to trim springs to exact lengths.
- 2Set up and run spring coiling machines per Production Engineering specifications to produce parts.
- 3Perform dry grinding, water grinding, and wet sanding operations to achieve surface finish tolerances.
- 4Use calipers, height gauges, and pin gauges to measure and inspect springs at each stage.
- 5Read and interpret blueprints and Travelers to verify routing and dimensions before production.
- 6Document inspection results and production steps on Travelers, logging time against job operations.
- 7Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety and attendance guidelines.
- 8Collaborate with team leads and quality inspectors to resolve production issues and meet daily goals.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of experience in a manufacturing or mechanical environment with hand tools or machines.
- 2Ability to pass Level 1 Spring Maker written, hands-on, and math tests within the first 90 days.
- 3Successful completion of Blueprint Reading training within the first 90 days.
- 4Strong physical capabilities including manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools.
- 5Visual and spatial thinking to assess part quality and dimensions.
- 6Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for accurate documentation.
- 7Self-motivated and dependable, with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- 8Ability to work a fixed schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
