Overview

Manager, Transitions Program leads 1:1 and group coaching to develop independence for adolescents and young adults with IDD at scale within a state operations setting. You will direct pre-employment transition services, family and employer engagement, and data-driven program impact across classroom and community sites. This role blends counseling, curriculum delivery, and volunteer management to advance social and vocational skills. What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and deliver classroom and community-based transition services to improve social, vocational, and workplace readiness outcomes
  • 2Develop, implement, and oversee curriculum for job exploration counseling, self-advocacy, and work-based learning
  • 3Coordinate with families, schools, and community partners to ensure individualized education plan alignment and seamless service delivery
  • 4Manage caseloads with timely documentation and data entry in participant records and Salesforce
  • 5Lead program events and campaigns including Best Buddies Day and Month and fundraising support
  • 6Partner with Jobs Program staff to ensure smooth transfer of participants upon program completion
  • 7Engage in team meetings and contribute to national program standards and best practices
  • 8Oversee intake, referrals, and documentation for Pre-ETS services and participant eligibility
  • 9Support marketing efforts to raise awareness through public speaking, media, and online updates
  • 10Collaborate with state operations to ensure compliance, reporting, and funding audits

Requirements10

  • 1Two years of experience in job coaching, counseling, or special education or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree with one year of relevant experience
  • 2Ability to engage comfortably with people with IDD and address sensitive issues
  • 3Strong presentation, facilitation, project and time management skills
  • 4Excellent written communication with attention to detail and self-motivation
  • 5Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally and work evenings/weekends as needed
  • 6Access to an automobile with applicable insurance
  • 7Accreditation by governing state agency or eligibility to obtain it
  • 8Ability to balance multiple relationships and achieve results in a dynamic environment
  • 9Experience coordinating with families, schools, and support coordinators
