Maintenance Technician with Inventory Management, Houston
Overview
You will own maintenance operations and the inventory room at our Houston packing facility. You will perform hands-on repairs on packing equipment while managing parts, tools, and supplies. Working with a small team, you will keep the facility running smoothly and safely. This role combines mechanical skills with inventory control, offering variety and impact. You will use Excel, barcode systems, and proven processes to track assets and improve efficiency.
What You'll Do10
- 1Perform basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on packing facility equipment, including conveyors, motors, and pumps.
- 2Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on PLC-controlled systems and other equipment.
- 3Conduct routine equipment inspections, documenting findings and scheduling repairs.
- 4Administer the maintenance inventory room, overseeing tool check-in/check-out with a barcode tracking system.
- 5Maintain accurate inventory records for parts, supplies, and spare components using Excel and maintenance software.
- 6Run cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure stock accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- 7Organize and label inventory locations, keeping the shop and storage areas clean, safe, and efficient.
- 8Track tool assignments, returns, repairs, and replacements, holding team members accountable for company assets.
- 9Coordinate replenishment of maintenance supplies, placing orders when stock drops below set levels.
- 10Support equipment installs and improvement projects, from planning to completion.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 21-2 years of maintenance or mechanical experience, including basic electrical troubleshooting.
- 3Bilingual in English and Spanish, with clear written and verbal communication.
- 4Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for inventory logs and reporting.
- 5Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- 6Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for inventory and documentation.
- 7Knowledge of safety protocols in a packing facility, including food safety standards.
- 8Forklift certification or willingness to get certified within 90 days.
