As a Maintenance Technician at Sage Ventures, you own the upkeep of residential properties across the greater Baltimore/Washington region, serving hundreds of units. You handle HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, ensuring every unit is move-in ready. You report to the Maintenance Supervisor and collaborate with a small team of technicians. What You'll Do9

  • 1Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts as needed.
  • 2Diagnose and repair HVAC and appliance issues across units, from refrigerators to water heaters.
  • 3Complete make-readies for turnovers: patch drywall, paint, replace fixtures, and ensure units meet standards.
  • 4Tackle work orders for plumbing (leaks, clogs), electrical (outlets, switches), and basic carpentry.
  • 5Handle appliance repair for stoves, dishwashers, and AC units, ordering parts and scheduling service when needed.
  • 6Respond to on-call emergencies during your rotation week, addressing urgent resident requests within 24 hours.
  • 7Maintain grounds by mowing, clearing snow, and ensuring common areas are safe and clean.
  • 8Document completed work in the system, noting parts used and time spent for accurate tracking.
  • 9Communicate with residents professionally, explaining repairs and setting clear expectations.

Requirements9

  • 11+ year of experience with HVAC and appliance repair, including troubleshooting and part replacement.
  • 2General maintenance knowledge covering plumbing, electrical, and carpentry basics for daily repairs.
  • 3Own tools of the trade: wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeter, and HVAC gauges.
  • 4Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods, including climbing ladders.
  • 5Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for traveling between properties, if assigned.
  • 6Strong customer service skills to interact positively with residents and resolve issues calmly.
  • 7Able to work with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and completing assignments on schedule.
  • 8Basic safety knowledge and willingness to follow OSHA guidelines and property protocols.
  • 9Willingness to participate in on-call rotation, covering one week at a time as scheduled.
