Overview
As the Maintenance Technician at Sunrise Pointe, you own all repairs and upkeep for a multifamily property, coordinating work orders and ensuring safety and curb appeal for residents. You work under the Maintenance Supervisor, collaborating with a team that keeps the community running smoothly. This role stands out by requiring hands-on porter/custodial duties daily and a working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds systems.
What You'll Do9
- 1Perform porter/custodial duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning windows to keep common areas pristine.
- 2Diagnose and repair health and safety risks across the property, documenting each action.
- 3Complete work orders in the company platform, tracking progress and history to meet deadlines.
- 4Prepare vacant units for occupancy, scheduling turnovers and assisting with inspections.
- 5Maintain maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment in clean, organized condition.
- 6Coordinate third-party vendor repairs for common areas, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- 7Respond to emergency repair needs after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
- 8Track parts and supply inventory using company protocols to support fiscal goals.
- 9Wear the company uniform and represent Quality Management Group professionally while building resident relationships.
Requirements10
- 12+ years of recent apartment maintenance or related field experience.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Valid California Driver License and authorization to work in the US.
- 4Working knowledge of electrical repairs: appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets.
- 5Hands-on plumbing skills: clearing drain stoppages, replacing fittings and faucets.
- 6Ability to perform carpentry, including fitting doors, repairing cabinetry, and fixing fences.
- 7Familiarity with grounds irrigation: sprinklers, valves, and timers.
- 8Basic math skills and clear written and verbal communication in English.
- 9Physical capability to lift 50 lbs and walk 7-8 hours daily.
- 10Willingness to perform porter/custodial duties as a core function of the role.
