As a Maintenance Technician I, you will own the daily upkeep of a multifamily apartment community in San Francisco, ensuring resident safety and satisfaction across 12,000+ units. You will report to the Service Technician Supervisor, working Tuesday through Saturday with on-call rotations. This role blends hands-on repairs with preventative care and apartment turnover. You will join a team that manages 50+ communities with a gross value exceeding $3 billion, backed by a firm with 50+ years in the industry.
What You'll Do9
- 1Diagnose and fix appliances, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues in resident units and common areas.
- 2Prepare units for new residents with cleaning, painting, flooring, and fixture repairs during turnover.
- 3Perform routine maintenance on HVAC, pool, and sprinkler systems following manufacturer guidelines.
- 4Keep grounds tidy: trash pickup, weeding, and basic landscaping to maintain curb appeal.
- 5Respond to after-hours emergencies like water leaks or power outages, with knowledge of utility shut-offs.
- 6Complete move-in/move-out inspections and document all repairs and maintenance records.
- 7Handle light pest control tasks such as setting traps and sealing entry points.
- 8Support exterior repairs like fencing and concrete work as needed.
- 9Collaborate with the property team to uphold community standards and resident education.
Requirements10
- 11+ years of experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-call duties.
- 4Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying weather.
- 5Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- 6Comfort using power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- 7Must pass criminal background and drug screening.
- 8Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday, including on-call rotations.
- 9Strong customer service skills and professional communication with residents.
- 10Familiarity with HVAC systems and pool maintenance is a plus.
