Maintenance Assistant - Skilled Nursing Facility
Overview
Ensure the safety and comfort of residents and staff at a 120-bed skilled nursing facility. Report to the Director of Maintenance and handle repairs, preventative upkeep, and emergency call-outs. Work with a collaborative team in a supportive, resident-focused environment. This role offers same-day pay and a clear path for advancement.
What You'll Do8
- 1Perform routine inspections of building systems and equipment to identify issues early
- 2Complete work orders for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs within 24 hours
- 3Install and repair fixtures, doors, locks, and furniture across the facility
- 4Maintain grounds, parking lots, and common areas to ensure safety and accessibility
- 5Monitor inventory of supplies and parts, placing orders when stock runs low
- 6Assist with snow removal, waste disposal, and emergency preparedness drills
- 7Document all maintenance activities in the work order system daily
- 8Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs
Requirements8
- 11-2 years of maintenance experience in a facility setting, preferably healthcare
- 2Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
- 3Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
- 4Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- 5Physical stamina to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- 6Basic computer skills for work order tracking
- 7High school diploma or equivalent
- 8Certification in OSHA or CPR preferred
Salary Insight
$37 - $42k per year
