Overview
We seek a compassionate licensed practical nurse or registered nurse to provide dedicated one-on-one medical and educational support for an elementary student at Corvian Community School. This role involves building trusting relationships while collaborating with educators and families to ensure student safety and success.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provide individualized nursing care and support to one elementary student throughout the school day
- 2Remain within arm's reach of the student to ensure safety and provide immediate medical support
- 3Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies
- 4Assist with daily living activities while preserving student dignity and independence
- 5Monitor health status and respond to changes in condition
- 6Support classroom participation during instruction specials lunch recess and field trips
- 7Maintain accurate documentation of medications treatments and observations
- 8Communicate proactively with families and healthcare providers
- 9Respond calmly to medical emergencies and implement emergency care plans
- 10Promote student independence with appropriate safety support
- 11Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care
Requirements8
- 1Current North Carolina LPN or RN license in good standing
- 2Valid CPR and BLS certification
- 3Pediatric nursing experience preferred
- 4Experience working with children in school settings
- 5Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities
- 6Excellent communication and organizational skills
- 7Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- 8Physical capability to assist with lifting transfers and other support tasks
