Overview

As a Medication Nurse at Behavioral Health Group, you will administer methadone to patients in our Joint Commission-accredited opioid addiction treatment centers. Working with a team of 1,900 employees across 24 states, you will assess patient progress and ensure medication accountability. This role offers an early morning schedule with no nights or Sundays, allowing for work-life balance. You'll be part of a leading provider dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance use disorders.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Administer methadone as prescribed by the Medical Director or Clinic Physician.
  • 2Evaluate new and current patients for treatment appropriateness and assess dosing needs.
  • 3Observe and assess patients post-administration, following all physician orders.
  • 4Collect urine specimens, file contract urines, and record results accurately.
  • 5Maintain medical supply inventories and receive medication shipments per DEA procedures.
  • 6Achieve phlebotomist certification if required and coordinate courtesy and vacation dose packages.
  • 7Train new nurses and implement quality health standards to meet accreditation standards.
  • 8Report and document medication discrepancies to the Nursing Supervisor and Program Director.
  • 9Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and external training to stay updated on drug abuse trends.
  • 10Monitor physicals and lab work, ensuring accurate patient dosing records and inventory reconciliation.

Requirements8

  • 1Licensed as LPN/LVN or RN in the state of employment.
  • 2CPR and First Aid certified.
  • 3Valid driver's license.
  • 4Preferred experience in chemical addiction.
  • 5Accurate data entry skills and basic computing knowledge.
  • 6Ability to work independently under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • 7Knowledge of dosing equipment, centrifuge, physical assessment tools, test strips, and breathalyzers.
  • 8Basic knowledge and skill in using standard office equipment.
