Logistics Supervisor Job in Houston | Daikin
Overview
You will own daily warehouse operations and distribution at Daikin's Houston facility, directing inbound and outbound shipments, inventory accuracy, and team performance. You will manage a team of warehouse associates, coordinate with middle and upper management, and enforce safety and housekeeping standards. This role gets you hands-on with WMS, MS Office, and Lean methodologies like 5S and Kaizen. What You'll Do10
- 1Check operation status reports for daily inbound and outbound shipments to assign manpower and meet volume targets.
- 2Train, develop, and mentor all warehouse employees, including issuing discipline when appropriate.
- 3Track daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and communicate them across the operation.
- 4Ensure all processes and procedures are documented and followed, including 5S and Lean practices.
- 5Manage safety and housekeeping procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- 6Lead logistic incident investigations and implement corrective actions based on findings.
- 7Provide a communication network between direct reports and middle and upper management.
- 8Encourage and lead team members to work safely and seek improvement in work practices.
- 9Maintain high inventory accuracy for all product classes within WMS.
- 10Ensure all MHE (material handling equipment) is in proper working order.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of progressive experience in a high-volume distribution center environment.
- 22+ years of leadership experience supervising warehouse or logistics teams.
- 3Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) in warehouse environments.
- 4Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and basic math skills.
- 5Familiarity with 5S, Lean principles, and Kaizen.
- 6Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
- 7Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to react quickly to resolve issues.
- 8Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, influencing cross-functional teams.
- 9Must be able to work in inclement weather, weekends, late evenings, and overtime during peak season.
