Overview
You'll own local container-on-chassis freight accounts within 250 miles of Hutchins and Wilmer, TX, running Class A day cabs on a slip-seat basis. You'll haul mostly drop-and-hook loads, averaging 1,000 miles weekly with $0.55 CPM, $29/load pay, and $20/stop pay, earning $1,000 to $1,100 gross weekly. What You'll Do10
- 1Drive Class A container trucks on night routes within 250 miles of Hutchins and Wilmer, TX.
- 2Pick up and drop intermodal containers at rail ramps and customer sites using drop-and-hook procedures.
- 3Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections on day cabs, ensuring safety and DOT compliance.
- 4Manage paperwork and electronic logs via ELD, and communicate dispatch updates.
- 5Haul container-on-chassis freight, focusing on efficient time management to minimize dock waits.
- 6Operate a manual or automatic transmission, handling backing, turning, and dock maneuvers.
- 7Secure and inspect containers and chassis per regulations, using tarps and straps when needed.
- 8Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and company policies.
- 9Coordinate with dispatchers on load assignments and relay any issues promptly.
- 10Work night shifts, Tuesday through Saturday, with daily home time.

- 1Class A CDL with 3+ months of tractor-trailer experience in the past 3 years.
- 2Primary residence within 30 miles of Hutchins or Lancaster, TX.
- 3Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
- 4DOT physical qualification and passing pre-hire hair and urine drug testing.
- 5Valid Class A license with no major violations.
- 6Ability to work night shifts, Tuesday through Saturday.
- 7Capable of slip-seating and operating day cabs.
- 8Physically able to secure containers and lift up to 50 lbs.
- 9Must have reliable transportation to work.
- 10At least 21 years old (per DOT requirements).
