Lifeguard
Overview
Manage pool safety overseeing all open recreational and rental swim periods. Lead team during daytime evening and weekend shifts. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while providing exceptional service to athletes and visitors. This role differs by focusing on student worker leadership within athletics department.
What You'll Do9
- 1Supervise and lifeguard swimming pool during all open recreational and rental swim times
- 2Schedule day time evening and weekend hours as needed
- 3Evaluate student workers continuously based on performance metrics
- 4Maintain equipment and facility standards according to policy
- 5Drive operational improvements through data driven decisions
- 6Collaborate with coaching staff to support athlete development
- 7Implement safety protocols during high traffic periods
- 8Manage shift rotations and ensure adequate coverage
- 9Document incidents and maintain accurate records
Requirements9
- 1Current undergraduate student at McDaniel College
- 2Valid Lifeguarding certification
- 3First Aid and CPR/AED certification for Lifeguard
- 45+ years experience in supervisory roles
- 5Proficiency with Aquatic Safety Systems
- 6Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- 7Strong communication skills for team coordination
- 8Understanding of NCAA Division III regulations
- 9Commitment to student centered service model
