What You'll Do11

  • 1Exercise medical responsibilities for psychiatric evaluation and health assessment
  • 2Administer medications while monitoring side effects and health changes
  • 3Coordinate care with prescribers and pharmacy communication
  • 4Perform 5150 evaluations and communicate medical issues to primary health care providers
  • 5Maintain client caseload and clinical records per Medi-Cal standards
  • 6Consult non-medical staff on psychopharmacology and medical aspects of patient care
  • 7Provide psychoeducation on harm reduction relapse prevention and motivational interviewing
  • 8Make appropriate referrals and linkages to external services
  • 9Assist with crisis interventions and ongoing client support
  • 10Collaborate with clinical team for therapeutic support
  • 11Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements9

  • 1Completion of accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program
  • 2Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse license
  • 3Experience with severely mentally ill populations preferred
  • 4Commitment to serving individuals and families with mental health issues
  • 5Knowledge of diagnosing treating injuries diseases and psychosis
  • 6Complex problem solving and social perceptiveness skills
  • 7Service orientation and willingness to travel for outreach
  • 8Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • 9Demonstrated interest in ongoing learning and training
