Overview
As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Akea’s Heart and Counseling Services, you will own a caseload of diverse clients across all age groups, delivering comprehensive psychotherapy and diagnostic evaluations in Philadelphia. You will join a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and collaborate on case management plans across inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth settings. Your expertise in CBT, ABA, and crisis intervention will directly shape treatment outcomes and client stability. What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding to identify client needs and formulate treatment plans.
- 2Deliver individual, group, and family counseling employing CBT, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and ABA.
- 3Implement crisis intervention strategies for acute mental health emergencies, ensuring safety and stabilization.
- 4Provide specialized counseling for grief, addiction, PTSD, gender issues, and clients with autism or developmental disabilities.
- 5Maintain detailed medical documentation and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA, accurately coding services with CPT codes.
- 6Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across inpatient, outpatient, or clinic settings.
- 7Utilize Telehealth platforms to extend access to mental health services while ensuring confidentiality and quality of care.
- 8Support clinical research and data collection efforts to improve therapeutic approaches and patient outcomes.
Requirements9
- 1Hold a valid state license as a LPC, LCSW, or equivalent credential.
- 2Demonstrate 2+ years experience with psychotherapy techniques such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- 3Proven ability to work with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
- 4Experience providing crisis management and crisis intervention in inpatient or outpatient settings.
- 5Knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding is preferred.
- 6Strong skills in medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance.
- 7Experience with Telehealth platforms is highly desirable.
- 8Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- 9Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy while maintaining professional boundaries in diverse clinical environments.
