Licensed Customs Broker - Rail Freight & Trade Compliance
Overview
You will own entry filing, classification, and post-entry work for a customs brokerage's importer base, ensuring full compliance with CBP regulations in a hybrid role based near Rahway, NJ. You will work directly with importers on documentation and compliance issues, and collaborate with the operations team on exception handling and holds. This role stands out for its focus on high-volume, software-driven workflows and direct client interaction.
What You'll Do7
- 1Prepare and submit import entry documentation to US Customs and other government agencies.
- 2Classify merchandise under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS), including Chapter 99 tariff provisions.
- 3Handle post-entry work including Post Summary Corrections (PSC), protests, and refund claims.
- 4Prepare and support Fines, Penalties, and Forfeitures (FP&F) petitions for relief.
- 5Respond to CBP inquiries, including Forms 28 and 29.
- 6Work with the operations team on exception handling and holds.
- 7Communicate directly with importers on documentation and compliance issues.
Requirements6
- 1Active Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) required, or recently passed the exam pending license.
- 2Experience with import entry processing, willing to train up if needed.
- 3Comfortable with high volume and software-driven workflows.
- 4Clear written communication skills with clients and CBP.
- 5Experience with ACE, NetCHB, or similar systems a plus.
- 6Mandarin or Cantonese language ability a plus.
Salary Insight
