Lean Management Specialist, Continuous Improvement Consulting
Overview
You will own Lean improvement projects at customer warehouse and manufacturing sites, partnering with Abel Womack's Raymond Lean Management team to deliver measurable gains in safety, quality, productivity, and cost. You will apply Toyota Production System tools like 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping to solve real operational challenges. Reporting directly to the RLM leadership, you will coach customer teams and facilitate training sessions. This role stands out because you drive change autonomously at client sites, with a travel component of 25%.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assess potential and current customer sites to identify continuous improvement opportunities using Lean tools.
- 2Apply Toyota Production System methodologies including 5S, Kanban, A3, and PDCA to solve operational problems.
- 3Map current-state workflows and implement countermeasures that improve key performance indicators and material flow.
- 4Lead cross-functional improvement projects that span multiple departments and customer teams.
- 5Coach customer managers and employees to sustain TPS practices in daily operations.
- 6Deliver TPS and continuous improvement training workshops to customer staff.
- 7Collaborate with internal experts to develop effective improvement strategies and materials.
- 8Manage multiple projects simultaneously while promoting accountability and a continuous improvement culture.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- 23+ years of experience in continuous improvement, Lean, TPS, operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
- 3Hands-on experience leading initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, or cost.
- 4Working knowledge of Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, and value stream mapping.
- 5Strong communication and facilitation skills for customer leadership and frontline teams.
- 6Analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to operations.
- 7Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organization and attention to detail.
- 8Self-motivated and resourceful, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- 9Willingness to travel locally to customer sites approximately 25% of the time.
- 10Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally and walk through warehouse facilities.
