Lead Support Driver, CDL & Route Operations
Overview
Own the day-to-day frontline support for CDL drivers and ensure efficient service execution across routes. You will partner with the Area Manager and dispatch to resolve issues, train drivers, and uphold safety standards at scale. This role blends hands-on field leadership with data-driven routing coordination to maintain high customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead field operations as the Area Manager's #2 and step in during absence
- 2Provide direct CDL driver support including route assistance and issue troubleshooting
- 3Resolve service cases promptly and document outcomes for accountability
- 4Train and retrain drivers on safety, equipment use, and company standards
- 5Coordinate route coverage, scheduling, and dispatch with an emphasis on efficiency
- 6Monitor daily operations to ensure safety, compliance, and productivity
- 7Investigate service failures and recommend corrective actions
- 8Support equipment maintenance planning and coordination of repairs and inspections
- 9Maintain clear communication between drivers, dispatch, and management
- 10Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and customer focus
Requirements5
- 1Associates degree or higher or demonstrated competency
- 2Valid driver’s license and 2-3 years of experience, CDL optional
- 3Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- 4Strong problem-solving, communication, and coaching skills
- 5Working knowledge of routing systems, CRM tools, and transportation software
