Lead Oracle Consultant (RAC/OCI)
Overview
You will own the architecture and delivery of Oracle solutions across on-premises Oracle RAC/Grid Infrastructure and OCI cloud environments, directly supporting the ED OIG headquarters in Washington, DC. Lead a team of database engineers in a dual-environment setup, ensuring security, performance, and compliance. This role demands U.S. citizenship and an active Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification (Oracle Certified Master (OCM) preferred), with on-site presence required. Your work will have national impact, safeguarding data for a federal agency.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and implement Oracle RAC clusters and Grid Infrastructure with Advanced Security and Database Vault for on-premises systems.
- 2Migrate and manage OCI cloud architectures, including Autonomous Database, optimizing for cost and performance.
- 3Lead a team of database engineers, setting technical direction and reviewing code and configurations.
- 4Drive zero-downtime upgrades and patching cycles, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- 5Collaborate with government stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable Oracle solutions.
- 6Diagnose and resolve complex database performance and security issues across hybrid environments.
- 7Document architectural patterns and operational runbooks for the government's knowledge base.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration and architecture, with Lead experience.
- 2Active Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification; Oracle Certified Master (OCM) preferred.
- 33+ years working with Oracle RAC and Grid Infrastructure in production environments.
- 4Hands-on experience with Oracle Advanced Security and Database Vault.
- 52+ years architecting on OCI including Autonomous Database, compute, and networking.
- 6Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers.
- 7U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
- 8On-site presence at ED OIG Headquarters in Washington, DC, required.
