Overview
Lead Carpenter DFH for commercial projects oversee installation of hollow metal and wood doors, welded and knock-down frames, and associated hardware on site in Mableton GA You will manage crews train apprentices coordinate with GCs and other trades and ensure quality and productivity on every project This hands-on leadership role emphasizes field problem solving and adherence to codes and schedules
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and install hollow metal and wood doors and frames and hardware including closers panic devices locks and electrified hardware
- 2Lead on site DFH crews assign tasks track productivity and maintain time sheets to keep projects on schedule
- 3Troubleshoot field issues such as frame plumb damaged openings and misaligned hardware and perform field modifications to meet code and finish requirements
- 4Coordinate daily with GCs superintendents and other trades for access sequencing and inspections
- 5Train and mentor installers and apprentices enforce safety and quality control on every job
- 6Perform accurate field layout and door prep read door and hardware schedules and construction drawings
- 7Maintain use of basic hand tools and operate power tools with heavy lifting as needed
- 8Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements
- 9Maintain documentation for project progress and quality control
- 10Foster a collaborative on-site environment to deliver projects on time and within scope
Requirements10
- 15+ years commercial doors frames and hardware installation experience
- 2Hands-on experience with hollow metal and wood doors welded and knock-down frames and hardware such as Von Duprin LCN Hager or equivalent
- 3Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schedules and perform precise field layout
- 4Proven experience leading on-site crews and maintaining productivity and schedules
- 5Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; forklift or scissor/boom lift operation preferred
- 6OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred or willing to obtain
- 7DHI COR101 recommended or willingness to obtain
- 8Forklift and scissor/boom lift training preferred
- 9CPR and First Aid preferred
- 10Bilingual English required Spanish preferred
