Lead Carpenter, Residential & Commercial
Overview
You will lead a crew of 4 on residential and commercial projects, building structures and installing fixtures across cabinets, trim, doors, windows, decks, and framing. You will own the daily workflow, from reading blueprints to delegating tasks, and ensure quality and code compliance. This role demands hands-on expertise and proven leadership, offering variety through punch-out and handyman projects. You will be the onsite authority, interacting directly with clients and suppliers.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead a crew of 4, assigning tasks and confirming next steps for each project phase
- 2Read blueprints and sketches to determine materials and construction methods
- 3Construct framing, joists, rafters, and decks with precision
- 4Install windows, flooring, trim, cabinets, and hardware to spec
- 5Plan crew tasks for the next day, ensuring materials and tools are ready
- 6Execute punch-out and handyman projects as needed
- 7Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and other trades onsite
- 8Enforce safety protocols and building code compliance on every job
- 9Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain them in good condition
Requirements7
- 15+ years of carpentry experience, with proven leadership of a crew of 4
- 2Strong grasp of math and measurement for precise cutting and layout
- 3Ability to read blueprints and translate them into action
- 4Proficient in operating both hand and power carpentry tools safely
- 5Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- 6Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials
- 7Experience with cabinet, trim, door, window, deck, and framing installations
Salary Insight
$75 - $85k per year
