Overview
You will lead rough carpentry on high-end residential projects in San Francisco, owning framing, window and door installation, and finish work from blueprint to final trim. You will mentor apprentices and laborers, ensuring precision and craftsmanship on every build. Working onsite with a team of skilled carpenters, you will shape custom homes that meet exact client specifications. What You'll Do8
- 1Review blueprints and translate them into accurate framing layouts for high-end residential builds.
- 2Fabricate and cut wood components, applying wood framing techniques to build structural elements.
- 3Install window and door frames with precision, ensuring alignment and weather-tight seals.
- 4Assess and repair existing wood structures, maintaining integrity and finish quality.
- 5Complete trim and finishing work, delivering detailed craftsmanship on visible surfaces.
- 6Work independently on multi-day tasks, managing time and materials from start to finish.
- 7Supervise apprentices and laborers, assigning tasks and guiding technique on the job site.
- 8Maintain and store tools and equipment, keeping them clean and in working condition.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of construction experience, with high-end residential projects preferred.
- 2Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans accurately.
- 3Understanding of basic engineering principles related to carpentry.
- 4Strong leadership and communication skills to direct and instruct team members.
- 5Own basic carpentry tools required for rough framing and finishing.
- 6Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds safely on a regular basis.
- 7Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- 8Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
