Lead Cabinet Install Technician, Finish Carpentry
Overview
As Lead Cabinet Install Technician, you'll own all on-site field operations for high-end cabinet projects in Austin, TX. You'll be the first company representative customers meet, directly managing removal, installation, and finishing. Reporting to the Owner/General Manager, you'll coordinate with the office coordinator, Production Manager, builders, and finishers to ensure flawless execution. This role demands superior craft, leadership, and communication, with the chance to shape the company's reputation. You'll work with DASH job management, supervise technicians, and maintain safety at all levels.
What You'll Do10
- 1Direct daily communication with the office coordinator, Production Manager, builders, finishers, and General Manager to align schedules and priorities.
- 2Master and enforce all cabinet removal, intake, and installation systems, ensuring every step follows company protocols.
- 3Supervise and coach Level 1 and Level 2 technicians on job sites, driving quality and efficiency.
- 4Execute efficient cabinet removal, pick-up, delivery, and installation, plus cleaning and touch-up for a perfect finish.
- 5Assemble cabinets and manage on-site builds, solving problems as they arise with minimal disruption.
- 6Provide professional, courteous customer interactions, maintaining a service-first mindset from first handshake to final signature.
- 7Operate table saws, miter saws, routers, edge banders, bandsaws, jointers, planers, and sanders safely and precisely.
- 8Use the DASH job management system from a mobile device to document progress, upload photos, and capture signed work authorizations and certificates of satisfaction.
- 9Keep job sites and customer properties clean, organized, and safe before, during, and after work, always promoting a culture of safety.
- 10Serve as primary project lead on every job, ensuring seamless coordination and final quality.
Requirements10
- 13+ years in installation, insurance claims, construction, remodeling, renovation, home services, cabinetry, furniture, or woodworking.
- 2Proven experience in on-site construction, remodeling, or renovation, with hands-on knowledge of job site dynamics.
- 3Direct experience installing cabinets, trim, case goods, or finish carpentry.
- 4Track record of interacting with customers on job sites, handling questions and ensuring satisfaction.
- 5Strong attention to detail, timeliness, organization, and a customer-focused approach.
- 6Ability to lead and direct other technicians, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback.
- 7Proficiency with power tools and woodworking machinery, including table saws and miter saws.
- 8Capacity to adapt to changing schedules and job requirements while maintaining high standards.
- 9Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across the Austin area.
- 10Willingness to work onsite and in the shop as needed.
