Overview
As an LC/MS Scientist, you own the operation and maintenance of Agilent 6100, 6400, and 6500 series LC/MS systems in a contract role. You work within a hybrid team in San Jose and support Mass Spectrometry projects from method setup to data delivery. What You'll Do9
- 1Operate Agilent 6100, 6400, or 6500 series LC/MS hardware for routine and complex analyses.
- 2Set up and configure LC/MS methods using associated software for sample analysis.
- 3Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to maintain instrument uptime.
- 4Process and interpret Mass Spectrometry data, documenting results for research teams.
- 5Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, calibration, and column changes.
- 6Collaborate with scientists to optimize methods for specific analytes.
- 7Adhere to safety protocols and keep accurate lab notebooks and records.
- 8Support validation studies and method transfers as needed.
- 9Assist with sample preparation and extraction procedures.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- 21+ years hands-on experience with Agilent LC/MS systems (6100, 6400, or 6500 series), including academic research.
- 3Proficiency with Mass Spectrometry software (e.g., MassHunter).
- 4Understanding of LC/MS principles and method development.
- 5Ability to troubleshoot instrument issues and perform routine maintenance.
- 6Strong documentation and data analysis skills.
- 7Effective communication and teamwork in a lab environment.
- 8Post-secondary diploma in applicable area considered an asset.
