Land Surveying Technician, Field Operations & Geomatics
Overview
The Land Surveying Technician will support a field survey crew under the Crew Chief, collecting accurate field data and locating features across diverse terrains. You will operate surveying equipment, maintain safety standards, and contribute to regulatory compliance on a full-time onsite basis in Charlotte NC. Some overnight travel may be required and growth opportunities exist through mentoring and professional development. You will join a collaborative team focused on precision, safety, and delivering reliable survey results.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and support a field survey crew under the Crew Chief to complete field data collection
- 2Ensure the quality and accuracy of survey work meeting regulatory requirements
- 3Maintain and protect surveying equipment and vehicles for reliable field performance
- 4Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features across varied terrains
- 5Operate equipment in year round conditions while maintaining safety and compliance
- 6Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all safety regulations
- 7Assist with processing fieldwork data and preparing survey deliverables
- 8Coordinate with team members to ensure timely completion of survey tasks
- 9Support maintenance of project documentation and QA/QC procedures
- 10Assist with site inspections and stakeholder communication as needed
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Two years of progressive experience in land survey field operations
- 3Proficiency with land surveying equipment such as total stations and GPS
- 4Proficiency in Survey CAD, ALTA, PLS, land development, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- 5Strong problem solving, self-motivation, and an entrepreneurial mindset
- 6Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- 7Must pass drug test and background check
- 8Ability to work outdoors year round in varied weather and terrains
- 9Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach
- 10EFB data collection experience preferred
