Land Development Project Manager
Overview
STV seeks a Land Development Project Manager to lead civil and site development projects across the Baltimore Washington region. This leadership role oversees project execution from concept through closeout while mentoring staff and building client relationships.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead and manage land development and site civil engineering projects from concept planning through design permitting and construction closeout
- 2Develop monitor and control project scope schedule budget staffing and quality to achieve performance goals
- 3Act as primary client liaison discussing progress obtaining direction and ensuring satisfaction
- 4Coordinate and mentor engineers junior mid-level and senior staff as well as subconsultants
- 5Review engineering plans reports and specifications for technical accuracy completeness and quality standards
- 6Facilitate internal and external project meetings and manage agency presentations and approvals
- 7Prepare proposals scopes of work and fee estimates supporting business development and client acquisition
- 8Provide engineering direction performing technical tasks such as site design grading stormwater management utilities and permitting
- 9Lead community engagement activities as required by client or project needs
- 10Manage financial aspects including performance tracking invoicing profitability and cash flow
- 11Maintain active PE license in Maryland DC or Virginia or demonstrate ability to obtain within reasonable timeframe
Requirements12
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Master’s preferred
- 2Professional Engineer license in MD DC or VA or ability to acquire promptly
- 310+ years progressive experience in land development engineering including design and project management
- 4Proven ability to manage staff collaborate with clients and deliver projects in public and private sectors
- 5Strong knowledge of permitting processes in Maryland Washington DC and surrounding jurisdictions
- 6Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
- 7Experience managing multiple concurrent projects at various design and construction stages
- 8Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills including meeting facilitation and stakeholder presentations
- 9Experience with stormwater modeling tools such as Hydraflow HydroCAD or Storm & Sanitary Analysis
- 10Demonstrated involvement in grading stormwater management erosion sediment control and utility design
- 11Participation in professional organizations or business development experience
- 12Ability to prepare proposals negotiate scopes and manage additional services
