Labor & Employment Associate Direct Counsel
Overview
Direct Counsel leads employment counseling and litigation at a growing practice group in Los Angeles. This role offers ownership of broad employment matters while collaborating with a nationally recognized firm. Ideal candidates possess 4–8 years of experience in employment litigation and counseling including wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff disputes.
What You'll Do7
- 1Advise employers on employment law issues and workplace compliance
- 2Defend clients in wage and hour class actions PAGA matters and employment litigation
- 3Handle single-plaintiff claims involving discrimination harassment retaliation and wrongful termination
- 4Conduct legal research and draft motions briefs memoranda and other litigation filings
- 5Take and defend depositions
- 6Participate in trial preparation and trial proceedings
- 7Collaborate closely with clients and attorneys on litigation strategy and risk management initiatives
Requirements9
- 14–8 years of labor and employment law experience
- 2Significant experience in employment counseling and litigation
- 3Expertise in wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff employment claims
- 4Superior legal research writing and motion drafting skills
- 5Proven experience taking and defending depositions
- 6Trial and substantial trial preparation experience
- 7Restrictive covenant and traditional labor experience is a plus
- 8Strong academic credentials and communication skills
- 9Active California Bar admission required

$215 - $255k per year
