What You'll Do9
- 1Patrol hospital property with K-9 and screen visitors to safeguard staff patients and visitors
- 2Protect hospital assets against fire theft vandalism and other illegal activities
- 3Complete an approved K-9 training program and adhere to the Security Program Policy
- 4Provide immediate response to emergencies including infant abductions fires and intrusion alarms
- 5Lead security K-9 units during rapid stair climbing sprinting and heavy equipment operation
- 6Subdue aggressive individuals using appropriate restraint techniques
- 7Maintain detailed reports and logs regarding security incidents and assessments
- 8Participate in ongoing security training and continuing education programs
- 9Apply specialized equipment such as handcuffs OC spray and batons as needed
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or GED required
- 2Associates degree or equivalent from a recognized institution in security or law enforcement
- 3Minimum 5 years experience in law enforcement or security with preference for healthcare settings
- 4Valid driver's license
- 5Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 2 months of hire
- 6Taser certification within 90 days of employment
- 7International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety Supervisor Certification
- 8Successful completion of Healthcare Security Officer Certification Training Program
