The Junior Computer Operator will own and manage high performance computing resources at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position supports the Department of Defense and Army Corps of Engineers DSRC with proven technical abilities. The role involves monitoring equipment and ensuring operational efficiency.
What You'll Do6
- 1Monitor and operate high performance computers to process scientific and engineering data
- 2Respond to equipment alerts and resolve machine malfunctions
- 3Maintain production records and distribute output materials
- 4Set up diagnostic tests and implement corrective actions
- 5Collaborate on tasks incidental to machine operations
- 6Work with multiple systems as assigned
Requirements10
- 1Secret Clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days
- 2High School Diploma with 4 years experience or associate degree with 2 years experience
- 3Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience
- 4Proficiency with Cray/Ex, IBM, SGI, Penguin architectures
- 5Experience with RHEL CentOS or Linux variants
- 6Familiarity with InfiniBand and Intel Omni-Path interconnects
- 7Knowledge of PBS SLURM LSF schedulers
- 8Understanding of Intel Xeon AMD EPYC or ARM CPUs
- 9Experience with Nvidia GPU systems
- 10Familiarity with ITLI Foundation
