IT Project Manager, Agile & Scrum
Overview
You will lead a cross-functional agile team to deliver business outcomes at scale for a Fortune 500 financial client. Reporting to the program director, you will drive quarterly planning and execution across Scrum and SAFe. You will partner with product owners and architects to remove impediments and ensure on-time delivery of critical features. This contract role spans 12+ months with 3 days onsite in Plano, TX, or other hub locations.
What You'll Do9
- 1Drive pre-planning and PI planning events for a team of 7-10 engineers and analysts.
- 2Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums and ART syncs to align dependencies and risks.
- 3Coach team members on Scrum practices and SAFe principles to improve velocity.
- 4Facilitate daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to sustain continuous improvement.
- 5Track and report team metrics (velocity, burndown, cumulative flow) to stakeholders.
- 6Remove blockers by coordinating with infrastructure, security, and vendor teams.
- 7Drive agile execution to meet business outcomes and priorities set by the product owner.
- 8Perform hands-on training and coaching on agile ceremonies and tooling.
- 9Deliver a high-performing team that meets its committed sprint goals and program increment objectives.
Requirements8
- 15+ years managing projects with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.
- 23+ years leading teams as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
- 32+ years using JIRA and Confluence for backlog and documentation management.
- 41+ years working in financial services or banking domain.
- 5Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or PMI-ACP certification preferred.
- 6Experience facilitating PI planning and Scrum of Scrums in a multi-team environment.
- 7Track record of delivering projects with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- 8Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field.
