IT Hardware Technician, Diagnostics & Asset Disposition
Overview
You will own hardware diagnostics, grading, and value routing for enterprise IT assets at Sprout, a growing ITAD provider. You will join a team that processes thousands of devices monthly, using a custom ERP platform to track every unit. Your work will directly impact the smooth refresh cycles of leading enterprises while supporting a greener planet. What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose and grade laptops, servers, and hard drives to determine functionality and market value.
- 2Perform hard drive and SSD wiping and repair using diagnostic software to ensure data security.
- 3Test RAM and other components to ensure working condition for resale or recycling.
- 4Spot and route valuable products to the correct sales or recycling streams based on model and condition.
- 5Create labels, scan barcodes, and manually enter serial numbers and model numbers into the ERP system.
- 6Sort electronic products by product type and value to maximize recovery.
- 7Safely remove electronic components by model or part number for reuse or resale.
- 8Tear down remaining equipment and sort materials by type for responsible recycling.
Requirements7
- 12+ years of professional IT experience.
- 2IT experience, certifications, or Vo-tech/Associate degree preferred.
- 3Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills.
- 4Self-starter with a desire to learn, grow, and excel in the role.
- 5Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures.
- 6Interest in the ITAD industry.
- 7Ability to lift others and enable product flow.
