You will join Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory as a 2027 Investment Banking Analyst in Charlotte, NC, executing middle-market M&A and capital markets transactions across industry coverage and product groups. Working alongside junior and senior professionals, you will prepare financial models, pitch materials, and transaction documents from day one. The program places analysts into specific teams, with Charlotte opportunities in Industry Coverage across Aerospace, Defense & Government Svcs, Industrial Equipment & Distribution, Commercial & Residential Svcs, Financial Institutions, and Communications, plus Mergers & Acquisitions in Consumer, Franchise & Restaurant. You will collaborate across Leveraged Capital Markets, M&A, and Equity Capital Markets to support live deals and business origination. This role suits a recent graduate with strong analytical ability, leadership, and a drive to own responsibilities in a dynamic banking environment.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Build financial models for comparable companies, transactions, and leveraged buyouts, using Excel to project deal outcomes.
  • 2Draft information memoranda and transaction documents that support sell-side and buy-side advisory engagements.
  • 3Develop pitch books and presentation materials for client meetings, integrating strategic narratives with MS Office tools.
  • 4Support senior bankers in originating new business by identifying M&A or financing opportunities across target sectors.
  • 5Execute live transactions by coordinating due diligence, managing data rooms, and preparing deal updates.
  • 6Collaborate with coverage and product teams to structure debt, equity, or advisory solutions for middle-market clients.
  • 7Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering accurate analysis and documents under tight deadlines.

Requirements8

  • 1Current enrollment in a undergraduate or graduate program, graduating between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027.
  • 2Minimum 3.2 GPA; preferred cumulative 3.5 GPA (include on resume).
  • 3Relevant work experience, leadership experience, and coursework in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred; all majors considered.
  • 4Strong analytical and software skills, with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • 5Permanent work authorization in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • 6Intelligent, resourceful, professional, clear communicator, with excellent attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.
  • 7Self-starter with strong work ethic, team player, high degree of humility, maturity, and integrity.
  • 8Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt in time-sensitive situations.
