Investment Banking Analyst, Debt Capital Markets
Overview
You will own execution support for Debt Capital Markets mandates at M&T Bank, preparing deal materials and tracking transactions from origination to close. Working with Associates and Senior Associates, you will build financial models, draft term sheets, and manage internal communication across the deal lifecycle. You will partner with the Investment Bank Middle Office, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution. This role offers direct exposure to live transactions and the opportunity to drive recruiting for future analyst classes. The expectation is to master credit and lending knowledge while progressing your valuation skills in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare term sheets, engagement letters, models, and flow of funds documents for Debt Capital Markets transactions
- 2Create deal materials including CIMs, LP summaries, pitches, and internal approval memos with high accuracy
- 3Track internal and external communication across the deal lifecycle using Refinitiv reporting
- 4Provide data and process documentation to enhance policies and ensure compliance with Credit and Risk standards
- 5Serve as primary contact for Investment Bank Middle Office supporting teams
- 6Drive recruiting efforts for Interns and subsequent Analyst classes
- 7Escalate risk-related issues to management and adhere to M&T control standards
- 8Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and economy to support transaction execution
Requirements7
- 12+ years in investment banking or capital markets roles with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field, or a combined 6 years education and experience with 1 year leadership
- 2FINRA SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 licenses required within 6 months of hire
- 3Strong analytical skills with spreadsheets, graphing, and presentations
- 4Working knowledge of financial models and valuation techniques
- 5Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with Investment Bank and balance sheet lender personnel
- 6Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
- 7Comfort with high responsibility in a fast-paced environment
