Interior Designer, K-12 Learning Environments
Overview
You will own furniture layouts for K-12 learning environments, applying the Meteor Design Principles to support our sales team. You will collaborate with the regional Studio team, including Sales, Instructional Design, and Project Coordination, through the full project lifecycle from Discovery to Sustain. You will drive measurable outcomes for future-ready students through thoughtful design. 3-5+ years of experience and AutoCAD, Revit or CET proficiency are required. Your work will shape modern classrooms that transform education.
What You'll Do10
- 1Attend project programming meetings in person or via Zoom with salesperson, educational specialist, and client to determine project scope.
- 2Develop conceptual design solutions that reflect information gathered during intake meetings.
- 3Create and present visual presentations including 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and furniture specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or CET.
- 4Specify furniture, finishes, and custom items within design and quoting software, using multiple manufacturers.
- 5Work within budget constraints and timelines, recommending product solutions with salesperson and client.
- 6Perform specification review and develop installation documents with the Studio team.
- 7Present to educational and architectural clients with clear communication.
- 8Research K-12 and higher education environment design, product options from 100+ manufacturers, and industry trends to elevate product knowledge.
- 9Adhere to the Meteor Core Process and Design Drawing standards, applying knowledge of ADA, Life Safety, Fire, and Electrical codes.
- 10Travel to client meetings, company events, onboarding in Gainesville, Florida, and functional training.
Requirements9
- 13-5 years+ experience in interior design, preferably in the education industry.
- 2Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Interior Design required.
- 3Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or CET and Microsoft Suite.
- 4Experience generating drawings and specifying furniture.
- 5Experience working with architects and trades preferred.
- 6Experience presenting to educational and architectural clients.
- 7Exceptional ethical and professional standards, with full cultural alignment to company values.
- 8Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with understanding of design principles.
- 9Live in the geographical area of the job posting.
Salary Insight
$75 - $85k per year
