Instrumentation Controls Electrical Engineer III
Overview
You will own IC&E engineering support for Midland Basin facilities, driving field walks, drawing markups, and MOC routing. You'll work with facilities engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient operations. 5+ years in upstream oil and gas gives you the edge to troubleshoot and implement upgrades. What You'll Do12
- 1Conduct continuous surveillance, analysis, and management of instruments, medium/low voltage electrical equipment, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient processes.
- 2Spec out instrumentation, medium/low voltage electrical and control systems, selecting proper instruments, sensors, and control devices for onshore facilities.
- 3Oversee installation and setup of IC&E equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- 4Participate in area Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, Hazard Hunts, and Critical Operating Parameter Reviews.
- 5Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- 6Support opportunity management by identifying improvements and developing scopes of work for projects.
- 7Collect and analyze data from instrumentation and control systems to improve processes and identify optimization areas.
- 8Recommend and implement upgrades to instrumentation, electrical, and control systems to align with industry standards and technology.
- 9Enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment, leveraging Management of Change (MOC) process.
- 10Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including facilities, machinery, operations, and maintenance to achieve project objectives.
- 11Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify IC&E issues, providing shutdown engineering support and brownfield/greenfield project support.
- 12Prepare and review IC&E deliverables: one-line diagrams, Cause & Effect diagrams, Controls Narratives, wiring diagrams, installation details, instrument index, and cable schedules, both internally and by contractors.
Requirements7
- 15+ years demonstrated work experience in Upstream Oil & Gas Production support.
- 2B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria: ISA, National Electrical Code, API RP 551, NEC, NETA MTS, and NFPA 70E.
- 4Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- 5Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software programs.
- 6Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially for technical and business communications.
- 7Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
