What You'll Do10

  • 1Direct daily operations of the Inorganic Chemistry laboratory, ensuring compliant and efficient workflows.
  • 2Oversee sample throughput, delivering accurate results within ISO 17025 quality standards.
  • 3Allocate laboratory workload and staffing to meet turnaround targets.
  • 4Supervise and develop Chemist I, II, and III, providing feedback and career guidance.
  • 5Perform analytical testing with ICP-MS and ICP-OES, maintaining hands-on technical expertise.
  • 6Lead method development and validation for new inorganic analytes.
  • 7Collaborate with quality assurance to maintain accreditation and QA/QC compliance.
  • 8Manage instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure reliable performance.
  • 9Serve as technical resource for sales, supporting client inquiries on testing capabilities.
  • 10Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity across lab operations.

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • 25+ years experience with inorganic analytical instrumentation, including ICP-MS and ICP-OES.
  • 33+ years leading chemists in a commercial or analytical testing environment.
  • 4Hands-on expertise in method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • 5Proven track record training and mentoring laboratory personnel.
  • 6Working knowledge of QA/QC frameworks and accreditation standards.
  • 7Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • 8Strong analytical problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • 9Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-throughput lab.
  • 10High emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership approach.
