Infrastructure Engineer, Kubernetes & Multi-Cloud
Overview
Infrastructure Engineers at Ivo own the foundation for a contract intelligence platform serving Uber, Meta, Canva, IBM, and Shopify. You'll run Kubernetes multi-cluster, multi-region deployments across AWS, GCP, and Azure, with failover and disaster recovery that actually works. You'll build internal tooling, set honest SLOs, and keep security invisible. This role is for someone who loves infrastructure as much as LLMs and wants to push both frontiers.
What You'll Do10
- 1Run Kubernetes like your own startup: own multi-cluster, multi-region deployments across AWS/GCP/Azure, with failover and disaster recovery that works when it matters.
- 2Build internal tooling to spin up and manage clusters, so dev-to-prod is consistent and nobody hand-crafts environments at 2am.
- 3Design workload isolation strategy for ML vs. API traffic, balancing cost, performance, and reliability without over-engineering.
- 4Make security invisible: implement RBAC, workload identity, secrets management, data residency, and audit trails without slowing product velocity.
- 5Set SLOs that don't lie: define real, enforceable targets that won't page you at 3am for nothing, and hold teams accountable.
- 6Own the pipes: GitHub Actions for CI/CD and Pulumi for infrastructure as code. If it ships, you had a hand in it.
- 7Keep Docker environments sane across dev, staging, and prod, so 'works on my machine' stops being a punchline.
- 8Debug end-to-end across APIs, workers, jobs, frontend builds, and performance. You're not siloed to infra.
- 9Automate repetitive tasks to make everyone's day faster: faster builds, cleaner environments, less manual toil.
- 10Own uptime: build observability that tells you what broke, why, and how often, before a customer has to tell you first.
Requirements7
- 12+ years living in Kubernetes, understanding cluster architecture, scheduling, networking, storage primitives, and distributed systems failure modes.
- 22+ years with Pulumi or Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions, across multi-cluster, multi-region setups.
- 3Think in failure modes: design for when things break, not if.
- 4Translate compliance and legal requirements into real infrastructure constraints.
- 5DevOps/infra at core, with enough full-stack range to debug across backend and frontend.
- 6Relentless debugging: systematic, able to go five layers deep to find root cause.
- 7Comfort with ambiguity: 'something's broken somewhere' is a starting point, not a blocker.
