Infrastructure Engineer at Virio - Build Scalable Systems
Overview
Own the core infrastructure that powers Virio's AI-native platform. You will design, build, and scale distributed services, data stores, and search layers to ensure fast and reliable performance as user demand grows. This role focuses on creating a robust foundation for agentic systems and human-in-the-loop workflows.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and operate distributed systems for reliability performance and cost efficiency
- 2Architect and tune search indexing and caching layers to maintain product speed
- 3Own data infrastructure including databases and data flows under load
- 4Stand up platform tooling observability and on-call practices for a small team
- 5Partner with product and engineering to align infrastructure with AI-driven workloads
- 6Make critical architecture decisions that determine state management and latency reduction
- 7Solve scaling and reliability issues at the root before they affect users
- 8Balance rapid delivery with rigorous quality standards
- 9Take full ownership of systems everything runs on without waiting for permission
- 10Drive technical excellence through unorthodox problem solving and quality-driven execution
- 11Collaborate closely with founders and benefit-rich compensation package
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons of experience in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
- 3CPC Card certification preferred
- 4AWS Certified preferred
- 5Google Cloud Platform experience required
- 6Data engineering background with hands-on experience in large-scale data processing
- 7System design skills for complex distributed architectures
- 8Strong leadership abilities in a small high-output team environment
- 9Adaptability to rapidly learn emerging technologies and frameworks
- 10Communication proficiency for cross-functional collaboration
- 11Reliability focus with a track record of maintaining production systems
