Senior Data Engineer, Data Platform at Virtisant
Overview
Virtisant seeks a Senior Data Engineer to architect and enhance the client's Data Platform. This role drives automation, integration, and observability for a healthcare technology leader. Candidates must reside in contiguous US states and hold eligible immigration status.
What You'll Do5
- 1Develop scalable backend services APIs and internal tools to automate data onboarding validation pipeline orchestration and schema tracking quality monitoring
- 2Integrate tools with core data infrastructure building pipelines using Airflow Spark dbt Kafka Snowflake or similar to expose capabilities via APIs and UIs
- 3Build visualization and monitoring components for data lineage job health and quality metrics
- 4Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineering product and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- 5Own high-impact platform components improve pipeline reliability and observability and partner to advance scalability and developer experience
Requirements9
- 15+ years building production-grade data or platform services with strong Python and SQL skills and at least one major data platform such as Snowflake BigQuery Redshift
- 2Deep experience with streaming distributed compute or S3-based table formats (Spark Kafka Iceberg Delta/Hudi)
- 3Expertise in schema governance metadata systems and data quality frameworks
- 4Proficiency with orchestration tools like Airflow Dagster or Prefect and solid CI/CD Docker knowledge
- 5At least 2 years AWS experience building data pipelines using dbt
- 6Nice-to-have: data observability data catalog metadata management tools experience with healthcare data standards like X12 or FHIR
- 7Proven data migration project background from legacy to modern technologies
- 8Experience creating internal developer platforms or data portals
- 9Familiarity with authentication authorization protocols such as OAuth2 JWT SSO
