Industrial Hygienist, Exposure Monitoring
Overview
You will own personal and area exposure monitoring for diverse clients across industries, driving health risk assessments from start to finish. What You'll Do9
- 1Conduct qualitative exposure assessments, including basic characterization and identification of similar exposure groups, to develop targeted sampling plans.
- 2Plan and execute industrial hygiene sampling surveys for chemical, physical, and biological hazards using OSHA and ACGIH methods.
- 3Interpret exposure monitoring results and recommend controls to reduce risks, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.
- 4Author detailed technical reports with sampling data, statistical analysis, and references to support findings and recommendations.
- 5Investigate health effects of chemical agents without authoritative exposure limits, using toxicological data to assess risks.
- 6Apply statistical techniques such as parametric and non-parametric tests to analyze exposure trends and determine outcomes.
- 7Design ongoing exposure monitoring strategies to detect deviations in exposure profiles and verify control effectiveness.
- 8Develop and deliver industrial hygiene training programs at client sites, improving safety practices.
- 9Support indoor environmental quality investigations, identifying and addressing potential contaminants.
Requirements8
- 16+ years providing industrial hygiene consulting or managing IH programs, including technical writing, oversight, and project management.
- 2BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field; MS or MPH preferred.
- 3CIH certification from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, or eligibility to earn it.
- 4Client-facing skills with ability to grow business opportunities.
- 5Ability to mentor and train junior staff.
- 6Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- 7Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- 8OSHA and previous consulting experience required.
