Overview
Own industrial engineering for automotive manufacturing operations at RGBSI in Detroit, MI, driving process improvements across stamping, sheet metal, and welding lines. You will lead Gemba walks, coach line supervisors, and implement standard work to boost productivity, quality, and delivery. This is a 3-month contract with potential extension, requiring 4-5 years of hands-on experience in BIW, powertrain, and chassis components. What You'll Do7
- 1Conduct daily Gemba walks across stamping, sheet metal, and welding cells to identify waste and variation.
- 2Drive process improvements that raise productivity, quality, and delivery performance on BIW, powertrain, and chassis lines.
- 3Coach supervisors and operators on standard work to sustain gains and build problem-solving skills.
- 4Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce changeover time and improve line balance in stamping and welding areas.
- 5Deploy spot welding and stud welding process enhancements to reduce defects and rework.
- 6Use the Stellantis Supplier Portal to track metrics, share updates, and align with customer expectations.
- 7Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement countermeasures within the first 90 days.
Requirements6
- 14-5 years of industrial engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
- 2Hands-on experience in stamping, sheet metal, and welding processes, including spot welding and stud welding.
- 3Proven track record of conducting Gemba walks and driving process improvements.
- 4Strong knowledge of standard work and lean manufacturing principles.
- 5Experience with products such as BIW, powertrain systems, and chassis components.
- 6Working knowledge of the Stellantis Supplier Portal (added advantage).
