What You'll Do10
- 1Perform repairs inspections adjustments testing troubleshooting cleaning lubrication scheduled maintenance on electrical air conditioning heat components
- 2Observe HVAC refrigeration systems identify failures and locate malfunction causes
- 3Dismantle devices remove defective parts inspect used equipment for calibration changes
- 4Test and calibrate systems using precision instruments such as multimeters flow meters pressure gauges leak detectors vacuum pumps pneumatic testers
- 5Maintain components circuits wiring starters relays motors compressor valves piston rings condensers evaporators air handling units
- 6Respond to emergencies involving bus movements during incidents and accidents
- 7Complete relevant paperwork and reports
- 8Follow safety practices and maintenance guidelines
- 9Assist in non assigned duties as directed
- 10Lead other technicians when necessary
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED required
- 2EPA Refrigerant Technician certification
- 3Five years automotive diesel electrical repair experience
- 4Valid Indiana commercial driver’s license with passenger and air brake endorsements
- 5ASCE certifications
- 6Knowledge of alternative fuel engines LNG CNG hybrid electrical diesel gasoline
- 7Ability to diagnose repair troubleshoot complex mechanical problems
- 8Strong written verbal communication skills
- 9Basic math addition subtraction multiplication division
- 10Physical demands include standing sitting kneeling bending moving throughout workday
Salary Insight
$54 - $64k per year
