Commercial HVAC Installer, Central Indiana Projects
Overview
You will install commercial HVAC systems for Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical across Central Indiana, handling rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, VAV boxes, ductwork, and exhaust systems. You'll work with project managers, field supervisors, and other trades on office buildings, healthcare facilities, and retail centers, with steady year-round work on a Monday-Friday schedule. This role offers growth into Lead Installer positions and ongoing technical training, backed by a family-owned company with 50+ years of track record.
What You'll Do7
- 1Install commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, VAV boxes, and ductwork per project specs.
- 2Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to complete installations accurately, following manufacturer guidelines and local building codes.
- 3Assist with equipment placement, piping connections, and duct installation, supporting startup and final system verification.
- 4Coordinate daily activities with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to keep projects on schedule.
- 5Maintain safe, organized jobsites, adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
- 6Mentor apprentice installers and contribute to team productivity, ensuring high-quality installations that exceed expectations.
- 7Complete system checkouts and troubleshooting of installation issues to ensure proper operation.
Requirements7
- 13+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience.
- 2Strong understanding of commercial heating and cooling systems, ductwork installation, and mechanical equipment.
- 3Ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- 4Safely operate installation tools and equipment, with troubleshooting skills for installation challenges.
- 5Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- 6EPA Certification preferred, with Universal EPA Certification a strong advantage.
- 7Experience leading installation crews or coordinating field work is a plus.
