Overview

Owns payroll, recruiting, and employee relations for a manufacturing workforce of ~80 at a Concord NC site. Leads day-to-day HR operations, partners with production leadership, and ensures compliant people practices across hourly and salaried staff. This long-term contract role blends payroll administration, sourcing, onboarding, and employee engagement with a focus on operational continuity and scale.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Build and oversee bi-weekly payroll processing for a mixed employee population with accuracy and timely recordkeeping
  • 2Lead day-to-day HR support for ~80 employees, serving as a trusted resource for managers and staff
  • 3Partner with production leaders to address workforce needs, resolve employee concerns, and provide practical HR guidance
  • 4Manage recruiting activities for detail-focused and salaried openings including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring steps
  • 5Support onboarding to help new hires transition smoothly and understand workplace expectations
  • 6Handle employee relations issues with professionalism including coaching, policy clarification, and documentation
  • 7Maintain HR files, personnel documentation, and compliance-related records
  • 8Contribute to engagement and retention through a supportive employee-centered culture
  • 9Participate in cross-training to assume payroll ownership smoothly and sustain HR operations

Requirements8

  • 1Prior experience as HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or senior HR Generalist
  • 2Hands-on payroll processing experience using ADP or a comparable payroll platform
  • 3Background supporting both hourly and salaried employee groups
  • 4Experience managing full-cycle recruitment for exempt, detail-focused, or salaried positions
  • 5Strong employee relations skills with ability to advise leaders and handle sensitive workplace matters
  • 6Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • 7Clear written and verbal communication skills with an approachable style
  • 8Manufacturing, production, or industrial HR experience preferred including partnership with operations leadership
