HR Director, Venue Operations & Multi-Site Workforce
Overview
Pinnacle Live seeks an HR Director to own the people strategy for nearly 900 venue-based team members across 200 partner hotels and resorts. You will partner directly with the COO and SVP leadership, shaping staffing, development, and retention for a distributed, shift-based workforce. This role spans employee relations, compliance, workforce planning, and coaching operators. You will build an HR function that scales with a high-growth live events platform, with 30-40% travel to venues.
What You'll Do10
- 1Partner with the COO and SVP leaders to coach and develop people leadership capabilities across all partner venues.
- 2Advise on organizational design, span of control, and team structure at the venue and regional level.
- 3Lead workforce planning and staffing strategy for a distributed AV and production workforce, partnering with Talent Acquisition to forecast needs and reduce time-to-fill.
- 4Own employee relations case management, investigations, and performance management, including harassment and discrimination complaints in partnership with legal counsel.
- 5Ensure consistent HR policy, wage and hour compliance, and labor law adherence across all venue jurisdictions, including the ADA interactive process and accommodation decisions.
- 6Partner with Operations and Risk on workplace safety, injury reporting, workers' compensation claims, and return-to-work programs.
- 7Drive retention and engagement programs tailored to frontline, shift-based, and event-driven schedules, using turnover and exit data to target interventions.
- 8Support people integration for new venue openings and acquisitions.
- 9Develop a quarterly venue people dashboard for the COO and SVP team, tracking turnover, headcount, and engagement metrics.
- 10Train Venue Directors on a standard performance conversation practice.
Requirements10
- 110+ years of progressive HR experience, including multi-site or multi-location responsibility.
- 2Experience as the senior HR partner to executive-level leaders at the C-suite or SVP level.
- 3Experience leading HR for a distributed, multi-location business of 800+ employees.
- 4Experience supporting an hourly, shift-based, or event-driven frontline workforce.
- 5Direct experience conducting and documenting workplace investigations, including harassment and discrimination complaints.
- 6Working knowledge of employment law across multiple states, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA exemption classification, and state wage and hour requirements.
- 7Experience partnering on workplace safety, injury reporting, and workers' compensation claims management.
- 8Experience managing performance improvement and involuntary separation processes, including documentation and risk assessment.
- 9HRIS and data fluency, with the ability to analyze turnover, headcount, and engagement data and present findings to leadership.
- 10Ability to travel approximately 25% to partner venues, including overnight travel.
