Housekeeping Aide, Nursing Facility Cleaning
Overview
You will own the daily sanitation of every department at Abbington Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, Illinois. You'll follow detailed cleaning protocols, manage supply levels, and maintain equipment to ensure a healthful environment for residents, families, and staff. You'll work with the Director of Environmental Services and assist with room changes, delivering compassionate customer service in every interaction. What You'll Do7
- 1Complete scheduled cleaning duties in each assigned unit to maintain a sanitary and odor-free environment.
- 2Follow specific cleaning instructions from the director of environmental services to meet facility standards.
- 3Check supply stock and notify the supervisor of needs to avoid disruptions in service.
- 4Maintain cleaning equipment and return it to its designated storage after use.
- 5Assist with room changes to support resident relocation and facility operations.
- 6Operate cleaning tools and materials safely, following all procedural guidelines.
- 7Provide courteous and compassionate service to residents and their families as a top priority.
Requirements7
- 1High school degree or equivalent preferred.
- 2Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
- 31+ years of experience in a cleaning role, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting.
- 4Working knowledge of standard cleaning materials, techniques, and equipment.
- 5Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- 6Good physical condition to handle standing, bending, and lifting during manual cleaning tasks.
- 7Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
