Hospitality Runner, Convention Center Events
Overview
You'll own the movement of food, beverages, and equipment across the George R. Brown Convention Center, powering seamless service for events up to thousands of guests. You'll support Levy's culinary and service teams, ensuring every banquet, conference, and hospitality suite stays stocked and ready. This role puts you at the heart of downtown Houston, with flexible scheduling and early wage access through Instapay. It's a fast-moving environment where your reliability and attention to detail directly shape guest experiences.
What You'll Do10
- 1Deliver food, beverages, supplies, and equipment to event areas within 15 minutes of request.
- 2Set up, replenish, and break down concession stations and hospitality areas before, during, and after events.
- 3Keep banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and service stations stocked and organized continuously.
- 4Support servers, bartenders, and culinary staff with immediate needs to maintain service flow.
- 5Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply shortages to supervisors in real time.
- 6Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards per health and safety regulations.
- 7Transport carts, trays, and equipment safely, using proper lifting techniques.
- 8Respond to guest and team member requests within 60 seconds.
- 9Assist with room resets and event transitions between scheduled functions.
- 10Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 21+ year of hospitality, banquet, restaurant, catering, or event experience preferred.
- 3Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- 4Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- 5Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- 6Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- 7Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- 8Ability to work indoors and outdoors, depending on event requirements.
- 9Ability to maneuver loaded carts and equipment safely throughout the facility.
- 10Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, and experience in convention centers, hotels, stadiums, arenas, or banquet facilities preferred.
