Petco is hiring a Hospital Veterinarian to lead high quality full service care at Vetco Total Care hospitals in Gilbert and Phoenix. You will perform advanced medical diagnostics, dental work, and complex surgeries while guiding a paraprofessional team. You will work with ultrasound and heated hydraulic surgery tables as part of a center that emphasizes patient and client wellbeing. What You'll Do7
- 1Provide comprehensive patient care through physical examinations, diagnostics, procedures, and preventive medicine
- 2Lead and mentor staff while maintaining high standards of patient welfare and client communication
- 3Perform surgeries including spays, neuters, mass removals, and dental procedures with emphasis on safety and outcomes
- 4Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with referral hospitals when needed
- 5Document clinical findings, treatments, and diagnoses in the medical record in a clear and complete manner
- 6Participate in rounds and share knowledge to improve hospital-wide care and communication
- 7Support continuous improvement initiatives and adapt to new techniques and equipment
Requirements5
- 1Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited school
- 2Active veterinary licensure without contingencies in the practicing state
- 3Current DEA license and applicable Controlled Substance license
- 4USDA Category I Accreditation or ability to obtain within two months of hire
- 5Comfort performing anesthesia and routine surgeries such as spays neuters dentals and mass removals
