What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and drive a fully equipped PIRTEK service van to on-site breakdowns across Staten Island and NYC
  • 2Diagnose, replace, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses on marine equipment, tugboats, shipyards, construction equipment, and industrial machinery
  • 3Maintain organization of truck, tools, and paperwork to ensure readiness for service calls
  • 4Communicate clearly with customers about issues and required repairs and manage customer expectations
  • 5Be part of an on-call rotation with paid premiums for nights and weekends
  • 6Participate in 4–6 weeks of structured training and progressively handle service calls
  • 7Develop specialized repair knowledge in marine hydraulics, cylinders, and advanced diagnostics
  • 8Progress to Lead Tech roles within 12–24 months based on performance
  • 9Adhere to safety processes and company standards to protect customers and equipment
  • 10Provide ongoing support and hands-on training to peers as needed

Requirements8

  • 1Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug checks
  • 2Willingness to work in dirt, grease, tight spaces, and on-foot in field settings
  • 3Strong hand-on mechanical aptitude with problem-solving mentality
  • 4Good communication skills to explain issues and solutions to customers
  • 5Ability to handle on-call shifts including nights and weekends with compensation
  • 6No hose experience required as training and 24/7 technical support are provided
  • 7Experience not required in specific equipment; training provided to cover marine, cylinders, and diagnostics
  • 8Commitment to following processes and safety guidelines
